I wish I remembered my blessings all the time because when things don't go as I had hoped or planned, I find myself slipping into the familiar track of complaining. Negativity attracts negativity, so it rolls off my tongue like water. The other day, I actually had breathing issues because I had so much to complain about. Nothing was going right, and the problems had a snowball effect.
But after watching this video, I decided that when a complaint is on the tip of my tongue, I will intentionally pause and replace it with thanksgiving. I've made a firm decision to do a negativity fast for the rest of the year. Like a food fast, where you abstain from certain foods for a period, negativity fast is about abstaining from negative thoughts and complaints and instead focusing on gratitude and positivity. I hope this becomes a new pattern that I will continue in 2025.
I shared my commitment to divorce negativity with my colleagues, and they said they're all in, too. Would you like to join us on this journey? We can all participate and kick the habit together.
As I reflect on what I'm thankful for this Thanksgiving, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to you, my readers. I appreciate the few minutes you take to stop and read my ramblings. Though my thoughts may not always resonate with you, I am genuinely grateful for your time.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving, friends! May it be enjoyable and memorable!
